Digital Asset Firm Gemini to Expand Business Operations in India, with Plans to Invest in Gurgaon Engineering Hub

Pravjit Tiwana, CEO APAC and Global CTO at Gemini, notes that in May, they announced the launch of Gemini’s Gurgaon technology development center in India.

Now, Gemini are pleased to build on that announcement and reveal that they have opened their office “within the Cyber Hub at Campus Cyber Greens, a center for crypto and technology innovation.” As of this month, there are 70+ Gemini employees “based in Gurgaon supporting all facets of our business.”

As noted in a blog post, India has long been “regarded as a hub for bar-raising talent by the world’s top technology companies, and they are thrilled to share that we are deepening our investment in the country.” Over the next two years, Gemini plan “to invest INR 200 crore ($24 million USD) to grow our development center in Gurgaon.”

Gemini’s Gurgaon office will “provide powerful contributions to support our growth over the coming years.” It will be home to professionals across their engineering, design, and operations teams that are responsible “for developing products and services for customers around the world in 70+ countries.”

Their teams based in Gurgaon will also be “responsible for core platform fundamentals in the areas of compliance, data pipelines and warehousing, security, and payments, complementing our 500+ strong global workforce.”

Gemini are actively hiring “for a number of key roles in our Gurgaon office, including software engineers, technical product managers, people operations and talent acquisition, finance, support, and compliance.”

Gemini is a startup at heart, and the Indian government has “built a robust support framework that allows startups to thrive.”

In 2016, the Indian government launched the “Startup India” initiative, creating “the conditions for a thriving startup ecosystem, which now ranks third globally.”

The successful Chandrayaan-3 mission, “which made India the first country to land a spacecraft on the moon’s unexplored south pole, is a perfect preview of what’s to come for the country and the global impact it will continue to have.”

According to Gemini, India is a global hub “for entrepreneurship and technological development.”

The team is pleased to “build Gemini’s presence in India as they continue on their mission to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom with crypto and Web3 innovation.”
