Consumer Fintech Chime Announces Appointment of Tony Truong to Key Executive Role

Tony Truong has reportedly been appointed VP of People Strategy, Operations, Technology, and Analytics at Chime. Truong previously worked at Roku, Nike, and PayPal.

In his role, Truong is expected to oversee “strategy and planning, operations, technology, and analytics for the People team.”

He will report to Chime’s Chief People Officer Sarah Wagener.

Truong said:

Chime also recently announced the appointment of Gaelen Gates as Vice President of Legal.

The tech lawyer brings nearly 20 years of experience “to lead Chime’s commercial and corporate law division.”

As noted in the update, Chime is pleased to officially welcome Gaelen Gates as its new Vice President (VP) of Legal.

She brings 19 years of experience “working with clients ranging from early startups to large publicly-traded companies, including tech and life sciences law firm Fenwick, fintech Credit Karma, and, most recently, at HR tech startup Checkr.”

She brings abundant experience scaling teams and processes, “as well as a commercial approach to finding the right balance between managing risk and driving business growth.”
