Republic, a global online investment ecosystem, is boosting its offerings once again by offering the ability to invest in films. While many platforms have periodically listed securities tied to the movie and video industry, it seems that Republic is taking a more dedicated approach to a film vertical.
Republic has enlisted Marc Iserlis, the new Head of Film at Republic. His producing credits include Hotel Mumbai (2019), Gone in the Night (2022), and more.
Republic Film will list securities affiliated with individual films, a series of videos, as well as, the distribution and marketing of the products.
As online capital formation has always possessed an element of community building – if you are backing a firm or project you tend to become an ambassador for the business. Republic highlights the ability to drive ticket sales and generate buzz to help with film projects success.
Currently there are several offerings listed on the site with two indicated as funding has already closed. The closed offerings completed in last couple of years. Three others are launching soon with one, Pressman Film, live now.
Pressman Film is seeking a minimum of $500,000 and has already raised over $340,000, or 68% of the initial goal.
Pressman Film was previously involved with popular films such as Wall Street and American Psycho. The offering is in the form of revenue participation. A minimum investment is $200 with perks included, depending on the level of support. The offering is scheduled to close in November.
