KPMG in Germany and Merantix have entered a strategic partnership to accelerate innovation and capitalize on the growing adoption of artificial intelligence across the German and European market.
The collab is anchored by KPMG’s investment in Merantix Capital’s AI Fund, which invests in and builds startups on AI’s application layer.
The partnership between KPMG and Merantix will include joint innovation and thought leadership across community initiatives.
With the partnership, Merantix and KPMG are contributing to the growth of the European AI ecosystem, thereby boosting the region’s technological competitiveness in the “global arena.”
With Merantix as a partner, KPMG can now complement their AI expertise.
The cooperation gives access to AI technologies and use cases from Merantix Capital’s portfolio companies as well as network of founders.

As the first pillar of the partnership, KPMG has made an investment in the AI Fund of Merantix Capital that invests in “pre-seed and seed-stage AI-native companies.”
The Merantix Capital portfolio has a range of technical solutions that complement the KPMG service portfolio, for example sectors including healthcare and manufacturing and in “areas such as legal, ESG and cybersecurity.”
KPMG and Merantix Momentum, the group’s AI solutions firm, will work to identify project opportunities, drawing on each other’s sector and technical strengths to “add value for clients in all aspects of AI.”
Merantix and KPMG will work to discover other AI use cases, enhancing of their businesses.
Via the partnership, KPMG and Merantix will aim to collaborate on initiatives that support AI innovation in Germany and Europe.
KPMG will be an active member of the Merantix AI Campus in Berlin, contributing to and leveraging Europe’s AI hub with “80 resident companies and more than 200 events annually.”
KPMG will also be one of the presenting partners of the AI House, an annual multi-stakeholder global platform “on the future of AI taking place in Davos this January.”
Merantix is Europe’s AI group, focusing “on investing, building, and growing AI.”
The Merantix group includes Merantix Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm working with founders to “bring AI into real-world applications in sectors ranging from healthcare to manufacturing to life sciences.”
Founded in 2016, Merantix’s other initiatives make up the AI community in Europe, including AI solutions business Merantix Momentum and the Merantix AI Campus in Berlin Mitte.
