German fintech company Cleversoft has entered discussions to acquire Istanbul-based Fineksus, a move aimed at expanding its global service network.
The Munich-headquartered firm specializes in financial asset management platforms and systems for fraud prevention.
Founded in 2004 by Florian Clever, Cleversoft has grown into a key player in Europe’s financial services sector.
The company, which employs nearly 300 software engineers, serves over 1,000 clients, including major financial institutions such as Citi, Barclays, Zurich Insurance, and UniCredit. Cleversoft has offices across Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, The Hague, and Sofia.
Cleversoft’s expertise spans cloud-based compliance services, asset management platforms, anti-money laundering, and risk management.
The fintech firm has bolstered its portfolio through acquisitions, notably Dutch company BusinessForensics in 2020 and Luxembourg-based CDDS in 2021. These acquisitions underline Cleversoft’s focus on financial crime prevention.
If finalized, the acquisition will give Cleversoft full control of Fineksus.
Fineksus, established in Istanbul in 2002, is a SWIFT Business Partner for Türkiye and the MENA region. The company provides end-to-end solutions in payment processing and anti-money laundering systems.
It commands over 95% of Türkiye’s SWIFT traffic and boasts a clientele that includes Akbank, HSBC, Qatar Central Bank, and Afghanistan International Bank.
The company operates in 32 countries, maintaining offices in Dubai, Kuwait, and Baku.
Cleversoft’s interest in Fineksus aligns with its strategy to strengthen its global footprint and enhance its compliance and fraud prevention capabilities.
Fineksus, which expanded its SWIFT partnerships in 2014, has leveraged its Dubai office to oversee operations in eight additional countries.
The acquisition talks mark Cleversoft’s latest push to consolidate its position as a leading provider of compliance and financial crime prevention solutions in an increasingly interconnected global market.
