Klarna, the AI-powered global payment network and shopping assistant, is strengthening its partnership with Zalando, Europe’s online multi-brand fashion destination, by introducing Klarna’s ‘Pay in 3’ option in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, and Denmark.
This latest expansion builds on last year’s official launch in France, Italy, and Spain, where customers embraced the “flexibility” of global Fintech firm Klarna’s range of payment solutions.
This multi-market partnership reportedly marks a key milestone for Klarna, as Zalando is one of Europe’s fashion and lifestyle destinations, serving more than 50 million active customers across 25 different markets.
With the introduction of Klarna’s ‘Pay in 3,’ Zalando shoppers can split payments into three “interest-free installments, enjoy greater flexibility, and try on items before fully committing—all with no upfront or additional costs.”
Nicole Defren, Head of Europe at Klarna said:
“Our deepening partnership with Zalando reinforces Klarna’s mission to be present everywhere, at every checkout. Klarna is at the forefront of scaling innovative payment solutions across multiple markets seamlessly, and this collaboration with Zalando is a perfect example of how we empower merchants to activate innovative payment solutions simultaneously in multiple regions.”
Kai-Uwe Mokros, Managing Director at Zalando Payments said:
“At Zalando, we are committed to providing our customers with a seamless and locally relevant shopping experience. Now more than ever, convenience, flexibility and conscious spending are key priorities for customers. We are very happy to extend our partnership with Klarna by launching their ‘Pay in 3′ option in additional markets. This collaboration increases our customers’ payment flexibility and allows them to choose a solution that best suits their individual needs and preferences.
With 85 million “active” consumers, and more than 600,000 merchants, Klarna’s extensive network empowers partners such as Zalando to “connect with shoppers through smarter, more flexible payment options.”
Recent expanded partnerships with payment service providers, digital wallet providers and global merchants driving the network growth further, making Klarna’s payment solutions “available whenever and wherever consumers shop and pay.”
