President Trump Announces $500 Billion Investment in Artificial Intelligence

President Donald Trump took to the podium once again to reveal a significant investment targeting Artificial Intelligence development.

“Largest AI Infrastructure project in history”

At a press event at the White House, the President introduced Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle, Masayoshi (Masa) Son, CEO of Softbank, and Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, to discuss the AI project labeled Stargate.

While details are thin, apparently the group has committed $500 billion to develop AI with at least one data center in Texas already started. The goal is to power the next generation of advancements in AI, which requires massive data centers. These data centers will also need enormous amounts of energy – something Trump mentioned while indicating an emergency declaration may be in the mix to boost access to the power needed.

While AI is predicted to solve “many issues,” healthcare was specifically mentioned, with Ellison explaining that at some point in the future, applications will be able to accurately predict looming cancer and custom vaccinations robotically developed in 48 hours.

The investment is also expected to create over 100,000 American jobs.

AI is expected to be leveraged by all industries and is already widely used in financial services as well as other sectors. AI may be a key differentiator between advancing economies and ones that are left behind.
