The House Financial Services Committee has announced a series of hearings covering a litany of issues and topics. As the Committee is currently controlled by Republicans, the tendency is to be more supportive of innovation and access to opportunity – especially for retail investors and entrepreneurs.
All hearings are expected to take place in Rayburn House Office Building 2218, but the gatherings will also be live-streamed on the Committee website.
Several hearings of note include a session on Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDCs), stablecoins, and payments. While the Trump administration is not expected to support a retail CBDC, stablecoins are positioned to become a favored form of value transfer.
Access to capital is always an important topic and something that has been ignored during the past four years. You can anticipate a discussion on the exempt offering ecosystem, including online capital formation, as well as access to opportunities for both investors and those in need of capital.
