Digital Bank: Zopa Opens Office in Manchester

Zopa, a regulated digital bank, says it has opened a new office in Manchester with plans to hire up to 500 new employees over time.

The Zopa Manchester office is expected to initially provide space for a team of over 50 employees,

Zopa states that it is experiencing profitable growth and plans to move into new headquarters late this year.

Zopa stated that it selected Manchester due to the city’s thriving tech ecosystem, strong financial services presence, and deep talent pool. The company says that Manchester has become one of Europe’s fastest-growing tech hubs.

Iain Kendrick, Chief People Officer at Zopa, says more than 85% of their customers a based outside of London and opening an office in Manchester allows them to be closer to their nationwide customer base.

Leader of the Council Bev Craig says adding the new Zopa office further bolsters their reputation internationally as an important centre for Fintech.

Zopa noted that it doubled pre-tax profits to £34.2 million in FY2024.
