Digital Assets Platform Kraken Now Operational in Washington State

Kraken announced that its crypto platform is live and fully operational in the state of Washington.

Kraken noted in a blog post that following a period of regulatory alignment and platform enhancement, residents of Washington can now access Kraken’s full suite of cryptocurrency services.

According to the team at Kraken, this launch is a key milestone in their mission to accelerate the global adoption of digital assets by making them accessible everywhere.

At present, traders are able to buy, sell, and trade 450+ digital assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana via the Kraken platform.

There are also ways for staking crypto-assets along with other crypto-focused services.

Their Washington launch reflects Kraken’s commitment to innovation and consumer protection.

Recently, Kraken also announced the launch of Kraken Derivatives US, which is a regulated U.S. derivatives offering.

According to the firm, the launch will provide direct access to crypto futures listed on the CME via their integrated Kraken Pro trading experience.

Kraken Derivatives US enables clients to trade “a full suite of crypto futures alongside spot market offering, and instant funding enables the transfer of collateral.”

This integration gives clients a unified interface to “deploy strategies and manage risk efficiently.”

This launch marks a significant milestone in their broader vision to build a multi-asset trading platform.

In April, they introduced equities trading in the U.S., offering access to more than “11,000 stocks and ETFs with round-the-clock availability.”

They also recently announced their tokenized equities offering.

The debut of Kraken Derivatives US follows their acquisition of NinjaTrader, a U.S. retail futures platform.

Later this year, they reportedly plan to expand their product offering to include commodity, fixed income, FX as well as equity futures.

Over the years, Kraken has steadily grown its crypto trading services. While it is not yet in a position to compete with larger platforms like Coinbase or Binance, it has still become a viable option for many traders and investors who are looking to diversify their investment portfolios with Bitcoin and other crypto-assets.
