AI-Powered Firm Sparrow, Used by OpeanAI, Anthropic, Raises $35 Million Series B

Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered firm Sparrow has raised $35 million in Series B funding, according to a note from the firm. The funding was led by SLW, with backing from Greg Brockman (OpenAI), SHRM, and Jeffrey Katzenberg, founder of DreamWorks.

Sparrow is a firm that provides AI-supported leave management, currently in use by more than 1,000 companies. Well-known firms are customers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Reddit, and ScaleAI.

Sparrow wants to make leave as painless as possible with zero paperwork and no red tape. Sparrow’s end-to-end leave solution is said to be compliant and consistently provides an HR service that inevitably boosts employee retention.

Sparrow CEO and cofounder Deborah Hanu says the leave is unnecessarily complicated and stressful.

“It touches so many aspects of the company — legal compliance, insurance, state agencies, payroll, HRBPs, managers and employees. Everything is always changing, and no one has the data they need when they need it. Sparrow has centralized that data to truly make leave — and adjacent areas of legal compliance — stress-free for the thousands of caring companies who trust us to support their workforce.”

Matt Walsh, Managing Director at Silver Lake Waterman, predicts that Sparrow will become the category leader.

The Series B brings total funding for Sparro to $64 million.
