Checkout.com, a global digital payments provider, announced a new strategic partnership with Uber Technologies, Inc (NYSE: UBER), the world’s digital mobility platform. The collaboration will now reportedly see Checkout.com offer acquiring and gateway services to Uber’s ridesharing and on-demand delivery platforms across markets.
Uber selected Checkout.com for its ability to combine international coverage with domestic expertise in a number of key markets. With its enterprise expertise and digital-first approach, Checkout.com is said to be suited to match Uber’s scale and support its expansion in the fast-growing digital economy.
Karl Hebert, VP of Global Commerce, Uber has said that riders trust Uber to deliver a good experience that simply works, and that also now extends to how they pay. Heber further noted that they depend on partners with reach and reliability as they continue to expand operations.
He also stated that Checkout.com’s enterprise expertise, international presences, and digital-first approach give them confidence that their infrastructure may help them to continue to improve the payments experience for riders as well as eaters.
Via this latest partnership, Uber will now aim to leverage Checkout.com’s global as well as proprietary acquiring network, and advanced payment technologies designed to make transactions quicker, secure, and more dependable.
This reportedly includes Intelligent Acceptance, Checkout.com’s AI solution that leverages real-time data from its international network in order to intelligently route transactions, cut down on failures, and enhance overall performance.
Guillaume Pousaz, Checkout.com Chief Executive Officer has said that this partnership with Uber is considered to be a key milestone for Checkout.com and another testament to the “significant progress we are making in winning the global enterprise payments market,”
They added that helping to support the millions of transactions Uber processes daily requires payments infrastructure that is fairly resilient, global, and improving on a consistent basis.
Pousaz also mentioned that they’re committed to delivering the digital payments performance that helps Uber with “pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in digital mobility.”
