Chainalysis Introduces Workflows, a No-Code Automation Solution for Enhanced Blockchain Insights

Chainalysis has rolled out Workflows, a feature within its Data Solutions (DS) platform. This democratizes access to sophisticated data analysis, allowing users without programming expertise to perform tasks typically reserved for data scientists. By leveraging Chainalysis’s extensive dataset, which maps the worldwide cryptocurrency landscape and tracks both legitimate and suspicious activities, Workflows enables insights into blockchain transactions and threats.

Chainalysis, renowned for its trusted intelligence in investigations, compliance, and security, initially introduced DS a year ago for technical users proficient in SQL and Python.

Now, with Workflows, the platform extends these capabilities to a broader audience through an intuitive, no-code interface.

Users can automate intricate processes with simple, guided steps, transforming complex analyses that once took hours or days into quick, efficient operations.

This shift not only saves time but also fosters proactive strategies in identifying and mitigating risks in the crypto space.

One of the core benefits of Workflows is enhanced threat detection.

Blockchain’s inherent transparency offers opportunities to trace illicit transactions and expose networks of malicious actors.

Traditionally, such investigations involved manual, labor-intensive efforts.

Workflows automates these by modeling unique on-chain patterns, or “fingerprints,” to uncover hidden activities.

For instance, organizations like Coinbase have utilized similar DS tools in initiatives to combat fentanyl-related networks, mapping and dismantling criminal operations at scale.

By reducing manual workloads, teams can focus on strategic disruptions, making their operations more agile and impactful.

The tool operates via a user-friendly “fill-in-the-blanks” system, where individuals select parameters to execute advanced queries without writing code.

Technical users still have full access to scripting options, ensuring flexibility across skill levels.

At launch, Workflows includes several key templates: Timing & Amount Analysis, which refines transaction matches based on deposit and withdrawal criteria for faster identification; Threat Actor Network Expansion through Mutual Counterparty Analysis, which reveals connections among numerous bad actors by analyzing shared interactions; and Targeted Wallet & Cluster Search, applying filters like exposure levels and activity traits to pinpoint matching entities.

Chainalysis plans to expand Workflows into hundreds of no-code modules, covering areas such as comprehensive ecosystem overviews, bulk data enrichment for regulatory and investigative needs, and business-oriented insights on tokens and on-chain behaviors.

The vision integrates Workflows as foundational elements alongside artificial intelligence, where AI could orchestrate multiple workflows for seamless, end-to-end automation.

This approach aims to enhance blockchain intelligence, empowering every user with expert-level abilities to drive mission-critical outcomes.

By bridging the gap between technical and non-technical users, Workflows positions Chainalysis as a key player focused on accessible blockchain analytics.

Organizations in public and private sectors can now accelerate their efforts in threat mitigation and strategic decision-making.
