Digital bank Lunar has joined forces with delivery platform Wolt to enhance customer convenience across the region. Announced recently, this collaboration marks the first time a Nordic bank has partnered with Wolt, aiming to streamline daily routines for users in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
By integrating Wolt’s services into its banking offerings, Lunar is positioning itself as a lifestyle-focused financial provider, going beyond traditional banking to deliver real-world perks.
At the core of the deal is access to Wolt+, Wolt’s subscription service that eliminates delivery fees on orders.
Lunar’s top-tier personal banking subscribers—those on the Unlimited plan—will now enjoy Wolt+ as a built-in feature, granting them unlimited zero-cost deliveries, along with special discounts and priority perks.
This isn’t a temporary promotion; it’s a permanent addition to the plan, designed to make everyday tasks like ordering meals or groceries hassle-free.
Similarly, Lunar’s business clients on the Limitless tier will receive the same Wolt+ benefits, including deliveries, which could prove especially valuable for small enterprises handling frequent orders.
Even customers on Lunar’s entry-level plans aren’t left out.
Those subscribed to Light, Standard, or Plus options can claim a Wolt+ trial ranging from three to nine months, effective immediately from the launch date.
This tiered approach ensures broader accessibility, allowing more users to experience the service without upfront costs.
The rollout is synchronized across the three countries, with adjustments tailored to local markets to ensure seamless integration.
The partnership extends beyond consumer benefits.
Wolt’s network of restaurants, retailers, and couriers will gain access to customized Lunar banking packages, simplifying their payment processing, operational management, and administrative tasks.
This mutual support underscores the alliance’s goal: leveraging technology to reduce friction in daily life.
As urban lifestyles grow busier, features like doorstep delivery without extra charges can save significant time—whether it’s grabbing a quick breakfast, stocking up on essentials, or avoiding crowded stores.
Johan Grönvall, CEO of Wolt Sweden, emphasized:
“Partnerships like this deliver real advantages in services people rely on daily. Waiving delivery fees might seem minor, but it translates to fewer chores and more free time during hectic days, from morning meals to urgent necessities.”
Mette Gade, Lunar’s Chief Product Officer, highlighted:
“Teaming up with Wolt aligns perfectly with our vision of creating meaningful value for personal and professional users alike. By bundling unlimited free deliveries, we’re returning precious time to our customers. It’s about those simple shifts—like having groceries arrive at your door instead of rushing to the market—that transform routine banking into a tool that truly supports modern living.”
Lunar, a challenger bank focused on Nordic financial landscape with its app-based services, views this as part of a broader strategy to build subscription models centered on utility.
Wolt, known for its efficient delivery ecosystem connecting users to local vendors, gains a fresh avenue to expand its premium membership. Together, they exemplify how fintech and on-demand services can converge.
This initiative arrives at a time when consumers increasingly seek integrated solutions that blend finance with lifestyle needs. As competition heats up in the Nordic market, such collaborations could set a new standard, encouraging other banks to explore similar tie-ups.
