The Investment Fund for Wales (IFW) has achieved a significant milestone as it enters its third year, announcing its largest single investment to date: a £3.5 million equity stake in Advantiv Limited, an industrial services and procurement company based in Merthyr Tydfil and Pembroke Dock. Managed by Foresight Group on behalf of the British Business Bank, this deal represents a pivotal step in supporting established Welsh businesses poised for expansion.
Launched in November 2023 with a £130 million commitment, the fund aims to stimulate sustainable economic growth across Wales by improving access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that might otherwise struggle to secure funding.
Advantiv operates as a comprehensive “one-stop shop” for clients in the commercial, industrial, and manufacturing sectors.
The company delivers a wide range of engineering products, technical site services, and tailored procurement solutions.
The capital injection will fuel the next growth phase, enabling Advantiv to establish additional UK offices, expand its workforce, and enhance internal systems, processes, and automation capabilities.
These developments will reinforce the firm’s competitive edge and allow it to deliver even stronger service standards nationwide.

Since its inception, the IFW—delivered through fund managers BCRS Business Loans, FW Capital, and Foresight—has committed more than £37 million across 93 Welsh businesses, leveraging an additional £9.5 million in co-investment.
This activity spans debt and equity deals ranging from smaller loans of £25,000 to equity investments up to £5 million, covering all regions of Wales, including rural, coastal, and urban areas.
