The House Committee on Financial Services has updated its forthcoming hearings for the coming weeks, and several are of interest to the Fintech sector.
Top of the list is a hearing entitled, “Tokenization and the Future of Securities: Modernizing Our Capital Markets.”
As capital markets digitize, all securities will become tokenized. This means more efficient, quicker transactions, improved security, and more. Tokenization can also deliver a boom in novel assets that were previously difficult to trade and manage, but when infused with technology, these issues can go away. Yet, questions remain. This hearing is one to watch and is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25th.
Another hearing of note includes the Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Artificial Intelligence Subcommittee Hearing entitled: “Innovation at the Speed of Markets: How Regulators Keep Pace with Technology.”
