According to a public statement, ERC-7943, the Universal Real-World Asset (uRWA) standard for compliant tokenization on Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains, is nearing Final status.
The official Ethereum EIP site states it is in Last Call, with a final comment period taking a couple of weeks and then moving to final.
The group behind the tokenization standard highlights the entities backing the standard, including Bit2Me, Hacken, Brickken, Casper Network, CMTA, DigiShares, FullyTokenized, Propchain, Stobox, Zoth, and QuillAudits.
Dario Lo Buglio, lead author of ERC-7943, says the standard offers an interface for compliance, transfer controls, and enforcement, enabling regulated assets in any jurisdiction.
Public implementations are reportedly in process with the Capital Markets and Technology Association (CMTA) integrating the standard into recent releases.
Chainlink is said ot have demonstrated compatibility with ERC-7943 through a public pull request tied to its Asset Compliance Engine (ACE).
uRWA is not without competition. ERC-3643, or the T-Rex Protocol, has been accepted as a final ethereum standard and has been used for billions of tokenized assets.
