Anti-Crypto Representative Brad Sherman Continues to Oppose Digital Assets in Re-election Bid

Representative Brad Sherman, a Democrat from California, continues to hammer away against the evils of crypto, according to recent posts on X.

Robert Leshner shares some images of a direct mail campaign emanating from the Sherman team telling voters to say no to crypto and blasting President Trump and his “cryptocurrency cronies.”

Sherman serves on the important House Financial Services Committee, where he frequently criticizes digital asset innovation whenever he gets the chance.

Sherman does have a primary challenger who is “crypto-friendly,” but aspiring Congressman Jake Levine is given little chance of beating the incumbent, who garners significant support from donors like the Financial Services Forum, which does not want any Fintech challengers to upset its sources of revenue.

Kalshi currently has Sherman at 98.6% probability of winning the primary with Levine at around 25%.

The general election looks solid for Sherman as well.

As Representative Sherman continues to criticize digital assets, the world is moving forward, with the US gaining steam. When the CLARITY Act is signed into law, providing a crypto market infrastructure framework, the rest of the world should follow and adapt. Digital assets can streamline the creation, management, and distribution of securities and more, offering significant benefits for consumers and businesses through enhanced security and lower costs.
