Fintech Firm Lendbuzz Explores Tel Aviv Listing as Alternative to Nasdaq Plans

Lendbuzz is reportedly weighing an initial public offering on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rather than pursuing a traditional debut on Nasdaq. The Boston-headquartered company, which specializes in AI-driven auto financing solutions, has built a strong track record serving consumers often overlooked by conventional lenders, and this potential move highlights evolving strategic priorities in capital markets.

Founded in 2015 by Israeli entrepreneurs Amitay Kalmar (CEO) and Dr. Dan Raviv (CTO), Lendbuzz leverages machine learning and alternative data to assess creditworthiness for borrowers with limited or thin credit histories.

The platform partners closely with auto dealerships, streamlining loan origination and servicing while expanding access to vehicle financing for millions of underserved Americans.

Its technology, partly developed through an R&D center in Israel, has enabled rapid scaling: the firm employs around 500 people globally, with a significant engineering presence in Israel.

The company has experienced steady financial growth. In the first half of 2025, it reported revenue of approximately $173 million, marking a 38% year-over-year increase, alongside net income that nearly doubled to $11.1 million.

These figures underscore the strength of its business model amid a competitive lending environment.

Lendbuzz has raised substantial capital over the years, including a notable round at a $1.1 billion valuation, and has facilitated billions in loan funding through securitizations and institutional partnerships.

Opting for Tel Aviv could offer several advantages.

The TASE provides a supportive ecosystem for tech-oriented firms, with streamlined listing rules for R&D-heavy companies, lower initial public float requirements in some cases, and familiarity for Israeli investors and talent.

It might also serve as a stepping stone for future dual listings while minimizing some regulatory complexities associated with US markets.

This consideration comes at a time when Israeli tech continues to navigate global IPO dynamics, with local exchanges gaining appeal amid fluctuating U.S. conditions.

Market observers note that a Tel Aviv focus could appeal to domestic institutional investors already familiar with Lendbuzz through backers like Mivtach Shamir Holdings and other Israeli entities.

It might allow the company to maintain closer ties to its founding team’s heritage while capitalizing on strong local market sentiment for fintech innovation.

However, challenges remain, including achieving desired valuations—previously eyed in the $1-1.5 billion range—and ensuring sufficient liquidity compared to larger US venues.

This potential pivot reflects broader trends in the industry.

Many fintechs are reassessing listing destinations to balance growth ambitions with operational realities, especially as interest in AI-powered lending persists.

For Lendbuzz, a Tel Aviv IPO could reinforce its position as a bridge between Israeli ingenuity and American market needs, potentially attracting a mix of local and international capital.

As discussions continue, the company has yet to finalize details, but the exploration signals confidence in its trajectory.

Stakeholders will watch closely to see how this strategy unfolds, particularly given the firm’s profitability and expansion in the auto finance sector. A successful listing on TASE could set a precedent for other hybrid Israeli-U.S. fintechs seeking agile public market entry.
