Fintech Affirm Expands BNPL Services to Amazon Business Clients

BNPL provider Affirm (NASDAQ: AFRM) has deepened its collaboration with Amazon to introduce installment payment options directly on the Amazon Business platform. This move allows eligible business owners to spread the cost of qualifying purchases over time, enhancing cash flow management and purchasing capacity without the complexities often associated with traditional business credit.

Amazon Business serves as a comprehensive B2B marketplace, enabling companies of various sizes to streamline purchasing with tools for management, analytics, and controls.

By integrating Affirm’s pay-over-time solution, the platform now caters more effectively to small and medium-sized enterprises seeking greater financial flexibility.

Sole proprietors and registered businesses, such as LLCs, partnerships, and corporations, can access these options, while nonprofits, trusts, government entities, and educational institutions remain ineligible.

The rollout began with sole proprietors and has expanded to broader eligible users. At checkout, qualified customers simply select Affirm as the payment method.

They provide basic details like business name and address for an instant credit evaluation.

Approved applicants can then choose repayment terms ranging from 3 to 48 months, with clear upfront disclosure of any interest rates, typically between 10% and 36% APR depending on creditworthiness and purchase details.

There are no late fees or hidden charges, and early payoff incurs no penalties, offering users full control.

Purchase eligibility starts at a minimum cart value of $50, with a cap of $30,000 per transaction.

Affirm finances up to $17,500, potentially requiring a down payment for larger amounts.

This structure suits a wide array of business needs, from office supplies and electronics to furniture and equipment.

However, certain items like digital content (e.g., Kindle books or movies), gift cards, and Amazon Fresh orders are excluded.

This partnership builds on Affirm‘s established presence on Amazon’s consumer side since 2021, which later extended to Canada and Amazon Pay integrations.

For businesses, it represents a tailored B2B BNPL offering designed to support operational growth.

Affirm’s Chief Revenue Officer highlighted how such options empower the millions of sole proprietorships in the US to boost spending power and accelerate development while maintaining predictable budgeting.

Industry professionals generally view this as a strategic expansion amid rising demand for alternative payment methods in B2B e-commerce.

BNPL solutions help bridge gaps in traditional financing, particularly for smaller entities facing liquidity constraints.

Merchants benefit from immediate payment receipt, while buyers gain installment convenience that can improve conversion rates and customer satisfaction.

Users manage their plans conveniently through the Affirm website or mobile app, receiving confirmation emails with full loan terms. Both the individual and the business share responsibility for repayment.

This integration maintains Amazon’s seamless shopping experience while adding financial versatility.

As economic pressures continue, tools like Affirm on Amazon Business could prove valuable for companies aiming to invest in growth without straining immediate resources. The initiative underscores the growing role of fintech in modernizing business payments.
