Goldman Sachs Acquires AEGIS

Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) has acquired AEGIS Hedging via its Goldman Sachs Alternative arm.

AEGIS Hedging Solutions is a provider of commodity market intelligence that reportedly works with over700 commodity producers and financial counterparties. The company helps market participants grow through market expertise, including the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI). In better managing commodity risk, firms are able to make better, faster decisions.

The deal was enabled by Fintech-focused investment bank FT Partners.

Goldman Sachs Alternatives Partner Anthony Arnold said that AEGIS has built an exceptional business with differentiated technology.

“They have demonstrated a history of generating meaningful value and savings for their clients through both their advisory and revenue cycle solutions, and their swap execution facility continues the trend of broader modernization and electronification of the capital markets. We look forward to supporting [CEO] Bryan [Sansbury] and the AEGIS team as they continue executing on the Company’s long-term vision.”

The terms of the deal were not immediately available.
