Global financial infrastructure provider Unlimit has obtained a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license, enabling it to deliver regulated digital-asset services throughout the European Union under a unified framework. The authorization was granted to Unlimit Crypto by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
MiCA establishes harmonized rules for crypto-asset service providers across the EU and European Economic Area. Full enforcement followed the end of national transitional periods on 1 July 2026, after which only authorized CASPs may legally serve clients in the region. The approval carries full passporting rights, allowing the firm to serve clients in all 27 EU member states without pursuing individual national licenses in each jurisdiction.
Previously, offering crypto-related services across Europe required compliance with a patchwork of differing local rules and standards.
Irene Skrynova, CEO of Global Payments at Unlimit, highlighted the significance of the development.
She noted that for years, operating in the European crypto space involved navigating distinct requirements market by market.
With the new authorization in place, a single standard now applies, supporting the expansion of the company’s digital asset offerings across the bloc.
Established in 2009 and headquartered in San Francisco and London, Unlimit maintains 17 offices worldwide.
Its payment infrastructure reaches more than 180 countries and connects with local payment systems.
The company positions itself to support cross-border commerce and payments initiated by businesses, consumers, and AI agents.
The MiCA license complements its existing capabilities, combining traditional payment services with regulated crypto-asset activities under one roof.
Firms licensed in one member state can passport services bloc-wide.
Unlimit Crypto, previously known as Stable Defi Ltd, appears among the CySEC-authorised entities and is listed in related registers tracking MiCA compliance.
The authorization arrives as the European crypto sector consolidates under the new regime.
Hundreds of firms have secured CASP status, with activity concentrated in certain jurisdictions, while many others have exited or scaled back operations.
For established payments players such as Unlimit—which already holds an electronic money institution license in Cyprus—the CASP approval strengthens its ability to offer integrated fiat and digital asset solutions.
Unlimit has pursued complementary partnerships and integrations in recent months, including collaborations focused on merchant checkout tools and cross-border payment expansion.
