Digital Assets: Wintermute Boosts US Presence Becoming a Registered Broker Dealer

Wintermute has boosted its US presence by becoming a FINRA registered broker dealer.

Wintermute was founded in London in 2017. A US office was established last year (2025).

The company is a crypto-native market maker, operating across centralized exchanges (CeFi), DeFi, and moving more into TradFi. Wintermute USA aims to provide liquidity for both national exchanges and OTC clients for traditional and digital assets.

Wintermute said the expansion into the US positions it well for the tokenized securities ecosystem.

Evgeny Gaevoy, founder and CEO of Wintermute, believes that digital assets will evolve in more than one direction as traditional and digital develop in parallel but ultimately integrating more deeply. Their goal is to operate in both.

The Wintermute group reports that it facilitates over $10 billion in average daily trading volume globally, providing liquidity across more than 60 centralized and decentralized exchanges.
