Cashflows, a London-based fintech platform designed to help companies accept card and digital payments with ease, has revealed a strategic investment in Tap & Go. The Blackpool-based firm specializes in card payment technologies and merchant services.
Details of the investment sum have not been made public.
The capital injection aims to accelerate Tap & Go’s expansion, allowing it to offer customers a wider range of products across an increasing variety of industry sectors, while the two firms continue building on their existing commercial ties.
This development unites two payments companies.
Hannah Fitzsimons, chief executive of Cashflows, is teaming up with Anna McDonald, founder and managing director of Tap & Go, and Nichola Eagle, the company’s operations director.
Both organizations position themselves as challengers in markets largely controlled by established players.
They share a commitment to robust leadership, long-term goals, strong customer results, and a personalised, responsive service approach.
The collaboration between Cashflows and Tap & Go began in 2025.
At that stage, Cashflows supplied the underlying infrastructure and handled transaction settlement for the card machines that Tap & Go distributed to merchants.
The relationship has now progressed beyond that initial commercial arrangement. With the new funding, Tap & Go can prioritise growth initiatives and extend its offerings.
These will move past traditional card payments to include e-commerce capabilities, virtual payment options, and solutions suited to multi-site operations.
Beyond product development, the investment will support Tap & Go in developing its workforce, raising brand visibility, and enhancing its standing in the market so that it can draw in additional customers through organic channels.
The company also intends to enter fresh industry areas such as universities, sports stadiums, dental practices, hotels, builders’ merchants, and the motor trade.
In doing so, it will draw on the knowledge and resources available through Cashflows and its experienced staff.
From Cashflows’ perspective, the investment deepens a productive commercial partnership.
It opens the door for closer collaboration around Tap & Go’s product range and creates potential for joint growth by combining the complementary strengths of the two organizations.
The move also forms part of Cashflows’ broader strategy of pursuing further strategic investment opportunities.
Hannah Fitzsimons commented that although the connection started as a commercial partnership, the investment reflects genuine belief in the direction Tap & Go is taking and the evident enthusiasm of its team.
She described the opportunity as a chance to blend Tap & Go’s drive and customer-centric approach with Cashflows’ experience and specialist knowledge in order to speed up the next phase of the smaller firm’s development.
Anna McDonald emphasised that Tap & Go is constructing a brand and set of offerings that position it as a reliable partner for businesses at every stage of their growth.
She expressed confidence in operating as a challenger alongside Cashflows, another challenger acquirer, noting their shared determination and energy.
McDonald highlighted the particular strength that comes from two female-led businesses aligning with this mindset, enabling greater ambition in what they create and deliver for customers.
Tap & Go was established in 2022 by McDonald and Eagle within the International Connections Group and has since spun out as an independent entity.
It focuses on card payment terminals and business cash advances aimed at supporting organisations of varying sizes.
Cashflows, founded in 2010 and headed by Fitzsimons, operates its own acquiring platform and gateway to provide a secure environment for payment processing across Europe, serving growing businesses and financial institutions. The investment is expected to strengthen both companies’ positions in the competitive UK payments landscape and deliver enhanced services to merchants seeking flexible solutions.
