MoonPay has expanded its AI-powered PayBox vault so eligible users can interact with Kamino, one of Solana’s largest lending protocols, through ordinary conversation in ChatGPT or Claude.
The update, announced on August 27, 2026, does not invent a new credit product.
It simply routes existing Kamino markets through a natural-language interface, so supplying assets for yield or borrowing USDC against crypto collateral can be requested in plain English rather than through a traditional DeFi dashboard.
PayBox itself went live in July as a non-custodial vault that connects wallets to large language models.
Users describe an intent, the assistant prepares the on-chain action, and control stays with the account holder.
From the start the product supported payments, token swaps, bridging, and yield via Aave.
Adding Kamino pushes the same model into collateralized lending on Solana, a step from small agent payments toward credit and capital allocation.
Kamino is a sizable venue for that shift. DefiLlama data cited across reports put its total value locked near $1.3 billion and active loans around $1 billion.
Through PayBox, a user can ask an assistant to deposit tokens to earn yield or to borrow dollar-pegged USDC against collateral already posted on the protocol.
The underlying loan terms, liquidation mechanics, and markets remain Kamino’s.
The change is the front door. Authorization is designed to stay flexible. Users can require a passkey confirmation on every transaction, or they can let the agent act on its own inside limits they set in advance.
That dual setup matters because lending and borrowing create positions that can move after they are opened.
An AI that can execute a loan in one prompt can also leave a user exposed if collateral prices fall.
If a position crosses Kamino’s liquidation threshold, liquidators can repay debt and seize part of the collateral.
Conversational access does not cancel those DeFi risks, nor does it eliminate the chance of an agent executing a poorly specified instruction.
Availability is limited. The Kamino plugin is not offered in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or Australia, and access can still differ by asset and jurisdiction.
MoonPay has not published a timeline for wider rollout.
Eligible users can connect through PayBox at paybox.sh and link the vault to ChatGPT or Claude with a custom connector.
The broader context is the rise of agentic finance.
Until recently, most AI-driven crypto activity involved small, frequent payments for data, compute, or online services.
Protocols such as x402 have processed large volumes of those micropayments.
Managing a leveraged loan is a different category of task: it requires monitoring, collateral awareness, and an understanding that a single sentence can open a position that needs ongoing attention.
MoonPay’s Kamino integration is an early test of whether conversational tools can handle that complexity without hiding the risks that already exist on-chain.
For users outside restricted regions, the practical pitch is simpler.
Idle USDC on Solana can be put to work, or collateral can be used to borrow, without leaving a chat window. The protocol, the rates, and the liquidation rules are unchanged. What has changed is how the instruction is given.
