HKMA, Regional Partners Hold Financial Leadership Training Program in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and The South East Asian Central Banks Research and Training Centre (SEACEN Centre) held their fourth Financial Leadership Training Program in Hong Kong from Aug. 25 to 28.

More than 35 senior representatives from central banks, ministries of finance and related government agencies in ASEAN+3 and SEACEN member economies attended the program, along with representatives from international organisations, the HKMA said.

The program focused on safeguarding regional macroeconomic and financial stability, as well as discussions on regional issues, leadership skills and professional expertise.

Participants exchanged views with industry leaders, regulators and academia representatives on artificial intelligence, transition finance and financial digitalisation.

“The success of this year’s Program highlights the growing synergy among our regional partners and institutions,” HKMA Deputy Chief Executive Darryl Chan said.

Chan said rapid technological advancements and shifting economic dynamics made it important to equip senior public-sector officials with the latest insights and strategic tools.

He added that collaboration and knowledge sharing could strengthen institutional capacity across Asia.

AMRO is an international organisation that aims to contribute to macroeconomic and financial resilience and stability in the ASEAN+3 region.

ADBI is a Tokyo-based think tank of the Asian Development Bank that provides policy research, capacity building, training and outreach to developing countries in Asia and the Pacific.

The SEACEN Centre provides learning programmes, research and networking platforms for its central bank members in the Asia-Pacific region.
