NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) and Norrsken Foundation partner on artificial intelligence to open Stockholm AI Lab.

According to a release, the Stockholm AI Lab aims to ensure that AI is “pointed at problems that actually matter.” NVIDIA is the founding technology partner of the Stockholm AI Lab

Norrsken is an impact investor and foundation, and has already pledged €300 million to pursue “AI for good.”

The AI lab is described as being a complementary addition to Norrsken House Stockholm, which is part of the foundation’s global network of Norrsken Houses, bringing founders, funders, operators and advocates together to build, connect, and scale. Each location operates independently, serving a region, including: Stockholm, Barcelona, Kigali, Brussels and Amsterdam. The goal is to have a Norrsken House in every major city in the world.

Impact ambitions include using AI engineers to address challenges in climate, health,  food systems and society.

Norrsken notes that Sweden has 29 times as many impact startups per capita as the world average with its AI ecosystem creating some of Europe’s fastest-growing companies.
