Trading and investing platform eToro (NASDAQ: ETOR) announced an agreement to acquire LB Finanzas, an Argentine all-in-one financial application. The move strengthens eToro’s presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing fintech markets and designates Argentina as its regional hub for broader expansion across Latin America.
LB Finanzas, founded in Rosario in 2018, delivers a fully integrated platform that combines investing in equities, exchange-traded funds, cryptocurrencies, and money market funds with payment solutions.
Users can hold accounts in both Argentine pesos and U.S. dollars.
The company has recorded strong growth in its user base and trading volumes, reflecting rising demand among Argentine retail investors for accessible, comprehensive investment tools.
It is regulated by Argentina’s National Securities Commission (CNV) and the Central Bank (BCRA) and serves hundreds of thousands of individuals and businesses.
Yoni Assia, co-founder and CEO of eToro, highlighted the shared vision between the two firms: giving people the tools and knowledge needed to build wealth.
He noted that pairing LB Finanzas’ local market knowledge with eToro’s global reach and product suite should allow the company to serve millions across a highly dynamic region.
Assia described the deal as a meaningful step toward establishing a localized footprint in Latin America, enabling faster and deeper expansion throughout the area.
Camilo Cristia, co-founder and CEO of LB Finanzas, explained that the company began with the straightforward goal of enabling any Argentine to invest using the same tools available internationally. Joining eToro extends that ambition further.
He emphasized that existing clients will see no immediate changes to services or their relationship with the current team, while future plans include additional products and greater scale.
Tali Salomon, eToro’s director for Iberia and Latam, who grew up in Rosario, expressed a personal connection to the founders and a clear understanding of Argentine demand for improved financial products.
She stated that the acquisition provides the foundation to meet that demand at scale, positioning Argentina not merely as an entry point but as the base for regional growth.
The transaction marks eToro’s fourth acquisition agreement in 2026.
Earlier deals included the self-custodial crypto wallet provider Zengo in April, the Israeli crypto exchange Bit2C in May, and the U.S. brokerage TradeZero in August.
The company, which maintains a solid financial position, continues to pursue both organic growth and targeted acquisitions to support its strategy.
Completion of the LB Finanzas agreement remains subject to customary closing conditions.
For Argentine users of LB Finanzas, the combination is expected to blend the local platform’s integrated services—including dual-currency accounts—with eToro’s multi-asset global offering.
eToro has indicated that while there will be no immediate changes for its own users in the country, future integration should expand the range of products and services available.
The deal underscores eToro’s broader commitment to localized experiences while leveraging its scale as a platform used by millions across dozens of countries.By securing an established
Argentine operator with regulatory licenses and proven local traction, eToro gains an operational foundation and market insight to accelerate its Latin American ambitions.
The acquisition aligns with the platform’s long-standing focus on making trading and investing more accessible, now extended through a regional hub rooted in one of the continent’s most active fintech environments.
