Bitcoin: Not the Best Investment for 2025

Bitcoin, the world’s most popular crypto, started the year at around $94,000. At one point in 2025, Bitcoin topped $124,000. Much of the enthusiasm for Bitcoin swirled around Trump adminstration policies that supported digital asset innovation. There is also the strategic Bitcoin Reserve, where the Feds will hold Bitcoin.

DATs rushed in, like Strategy (MicroStrategy), purchasing large amounts of BTC. But as of late December 2025, investors in Bitcoin have not experienced an outcome they anticipated, as BTC is now trading around $87,000. Strategy has dropped from a peak of $455 to its current price of $157.

In the meantime, hard commodities like Gold and Silver have soared. Silver has rocketed by 132%. Gold by over 70%.

More plebian equities have done well too, as emerging markets have moved up by over 33%, and US large growth by 20%. Overall, the S&P 500 has risen by 18% for the  year.

When looking at individual stocks, ScanDisk jumped by over 570%. Palantir by more than 340%. Top investment choices like NVIDIA did well too, up by over 110%.

While Bitcoin was a dog for the year, some other crypto assets have performed. Solana jumped by 460%, and Ethereum rose by 195%.

Overall, US markets have performed well in 2025. If the Trump Administration can keep things on track, i.e., low inflation, global stability, low taxes, lesser regulation, and improving investment, 2026 could tee up another banner year for investors.
