SpaceX and xAI are Both OurCrowd Portfolio Companies

SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space exploration firm, recently announced it would merge with xAI, Musk’s AI startup.

The combination of the two firms will create a massive $1.25 trillion tech firm, with xAI valued at $250 billion.

Another interesting note about these two firms are they are both OurCrowd portfolio firms.

OurCrowd provides smaller investors with access to private investments, frequently at a lower cost point than a typical venture fund. As SpaceX prepares for an initial public offering, early investors should benefit from this exit opportunity.

OurCrowd listed the later-stage investment opportunity in 2025. The firm’s valuation may have been around $800 billion. The Reg D filing indicates taht $2.178 million was raised at a minimum of $10,000.

Regarding xAI, the 2025 Reg D filing indicates the offering raised $2.038 million with a minimum investment of $10,000.

The anticipated IPO of the combined firm, which may occur as early as June, could value it at $1.5 trillion.

Musk has described the merger as a “vertically integrated innovation engine.” Of course, much of the hype is because of Musk’s reputation as the most successful entrepreneur of the time.

As for investors who purchased shares on the OurCrowd platform, it will be interesting to learn what type of gain they may earn following the IPO.
