Zodia Solutions, best known for its crypto custody service, has announced a new Chief Executive Officer following Standard Chartered’s acquisition of the custody service.
According to a public statement, Julian Sawyer, who is currently the CEO of Zodia Custody, will become CEO, providing consistency to the transition.
The acquisition is awaiting final regulatory approvals, but Zodia is being positioned as an institutional digital asset platform that will support legacy and new financial firms. Zodia Solutions is expected to “design, deliver, and grow” its clients’ businesses by providing digital asset infrastructure, including custody, as well as other services such as tokenization.
The company aims to bridge traditional finance to the digital future. It believes that most crypto-native firms lack the institutional governance requirements needed for traditional finance to transition to blockchain-based activities.
Zodia notes that the “Solutions” business already existed within the firm and is currently supporting financial firms globally.
