Fireblocks, a blockchain infrastructure firm that safeguards digital assets, has enlisted the assistance of former US SEC Commissioner Elad Roisman.
Over the years, Fireblocks has expanded its digital asset services beyond custody to include wallets, stablecoins, trading, tokenization, payments, and more. The company works with many traditional finance firms as well as Fintechs.
Roisman has been selected as Fireblocks’ Chief Regulatory and Policy Officer and General Counsel, Regulatory. He is expected to lead Fireblocks’ regulatory strategy and policy engagement, serving as Fireblocks’ principal liaison to regulators and policymakers. Roisman will be based in Washington, D.C.
President Donald Trump appointed Roisman as an SEC Commissioner during his first term. Roisman joined the SEC from the Senate Committee on Banking, where he served as Chief Counsel. Roisman helped draft several pieces of legislation that became law and played an integral role in drafting and negotiating the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act. Roisman exited the SEC in early 2022.
The Trump administration has been determinedly pro-digital asset innovation and supportive of the CLARITY Act, crypto infrastructure legislation that is awaiting a vote in the Senate.
