Tokenized Equities Growing Part of Real-World Assets (RWAs) Ecosystem

The tokenized equities sector continues to expand as one of the more active areas within real-world assets, with platforms such as Ondo Finance, Binance’s bStocks, and xStocks accounting for the majority of current trading and investment activity.

Recent data show the category’s share of the overall RWA market rising notably, while total value and transfer volumes have increased substantially over recent months.

According to tracking platforms that monitor on-chain equity products, the distributed value of tokenized stocks has climbed into the multi-billion-dollar range.

Figures from mid-August place the broader market near $2.8 billion in certain measurements, with individual platform contributions reflecting clear leadership concentration.

Ondo Finance holds the largest position, followed closely by Binance’s bStocks offering and xStocks.

Together these three account for the bulk of market activity, illustrating how a small number of issuers dominate issuance and liquidity.

Transfer volumes have also risen sharply.

Monthly figures have more than doubled in some recent periods, reaching levels in the tens of billions of dollars.

Holder counts have similarly expanded, with reports indicating more than one million unique addresses interacting with these assets in recent weeks.

Active addresses and overall participation metrics point to growing retail engagement, as users seek 24/7 access to equity exposure without traditional brokerage constraints.

The products offered by the leading platforms generally rely on synthetic or linked structures.

Rather than placing conventional shares directly on-chain in every instance, the tokens are designed to track the performance of underlying equities or ETFs.

Underlying assets are typically held in regulated custody arrangements, allowing the tokens to be traded, transferred, and integrated into decentralized applications.

This model has facilitated broader distribution across multiple blockchains and exchanges.

Binance’s bStocks product, launched earlier in the year, has grown particularly quickly, moving into second place behind Ondo in certain rankings within a short period.

xStocks, associated with broader multi-chain availability, maintains a significant presence as well.

Ondo’s catalog spans hundreds of individual equities and ETFs, contributing to its leading position by value.

The expansion of tokenized equities coincides with wider interest in bringing traditional market instruments onto blockchain rails.

Participants gain benefits such as fractional ownership, continuous trading hours, and composability with other on-chain protocols.

At the same time, the sector remains a relatively small portion of the overall RWA landscape, leaving room for further development as infrastructure and regulatory frameworks mature.

Other initiatives continue to explore native on-chain equity issuance that more closely mirrors conventional shareholder rights.

However, the current market leaders have prioritized accessibility and liquidity through their existing structures, which appears to have supported the observed growth in value and activity.

As the ecosystem develops, sustained expansion will depend on deeper liquidity, additional asset coverage, and continued platform integrations. The concentration among Ondo, Binance’s bStocks, and xStocks currently defines the competitive landscape, positioning these three as the primary drivers of recent progress in tokenized equities.
