Miami based Fintech Félix Closes Equity and Debt Round to Expand Operations Past Remittances

Félix, the Miami-based fintech that helps Latin Americans send money home through WhatsApp, has raised $200 million in new capital as it moves beyond remittances into a broader set of financial products.

The round, described by the company and several investors as a Series C, combines $87 million in equity led by Andreessen Horowitz with a $113 million credit facility from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund.

Existing backers including QED Investors, Castle Island Ventures, Switch Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, and Endeavor Catalyst also participated.

QED, which led Félix’s Series B in 2025, acknowledged the efforts of co-founder and CEO Manuel J. Godoy and the team on the latest close.

Founded in 2020 by Godoy, who is originally from Venezuela, and Bernardo García, who is from Mexico, Félix was built around a simple observation: many immigrants find traditional US banking hard to navigate, yet they already live inside WhatsApp.

Rather than force users onto another app, the company lets people request transfers in everyday language. Behind the chat interface, it has used stablecoin rails such as USDC to move funds more quickly and cheaply than older remittance networks.

The results have been substantial.

Félix says it has processed more than $8 billion in transactions for over six million people across 11 Latin American markets, including Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, Ecuador, and others. Revenue more than 2.5 times over the past year.

The company has not disclosed a precise post-money valuation, but it said the figure has roughly tripled since the prior round. Total capital raised now approaches $300 million.

Godoy has framed the next chapter as a shift from a single product to what he calls a “cognitive financial companion.”

Instead of starting with a loan form or a savings account, users should be able to describe a goal—help family, cover an unexpected bill, set money aside—and have Félix map a path and execute it.

The ambition, he has said, is a high-end advisory experience delivered with the ease of a conversation, aimed at people the traditional system has often overlooked.

Proceeds will support hiring, AI and engineering work, stronger financial infrastructure, and expansion into additional countries such as Brazil and Venezuela.

The credit line is intended to underwrite lending as Félix adds savings, credit, and related services.

The company has already begun layering on extras such as mobile top-ups so US-based customers can pay for relatives’ phone service abroad.

The timing reflects both customer demand and a larger market shift.

Cross-border flows to Latin America remain enormous, and digital channels are taking share from cash-based incumbents such as Western Union and MoneyGram.

Félix argues that meeting users where they already communicate, then expanding the relationship over time, is a more durable way to serve that audience than another standalone app.

Investors see the same logic.

Ali Yahya of Andreessen Horowitz has pointed to the team’s focus on tailored tools for an underserved community.

For QED and the other returning funds, the latest check is a continuation of an earlier bet that remittances were only the first chapter. Félix’s job now is to turn high-frequency money movement into a fuller financial relationship—one that starts with what customers say they need, not with the product a bank wants to sell.
