Walmart backed Fintech OnePay Adds My Garage to Unify Car Payments and Vehicle Finances in Its App

OnePay, the Walmart-backed financial technology firm, has rolled out a new in-app feature called My Garage that consolidates vehicle-related payments and financial details in a single dashboard.

The move reflects the company’s broader effort to expand its mobile platform into a more complete money management tool for everyday expenses. For many households, a car ranks among the most valuable possessions after a home.

It also generates some of the largest recurring costs: loan or lease payments, insurance premiums, and fuel.

Until now, owners typically had to check vehicle value on one site, remaining loan balance with a lender, insurance quotes elsewhere, and fuel discounts in yet another place.

My Garage aims to close that gap by presenting an updated estimate of the car’s worth, remaining loan equity, projected payoff date, insurance comparison options, and nearby gas rewards inside the same app users already employ for banking, savings, cards, and other services.

Users begin by entering basic details such as year, make, model, trim, and mileage.

The feature then assembles a profile.

Those who enable OnePay’s complimentary credit monitoring can have an existing auto loan automatically identified and linked so the outstanding balance updates as payments are made.

The main view displays current estimated value, amount still owed, and months remaining until the vehicle is paid off.

Additional sections let users browse insurance offers and locate participating gas stations with rewards.

Savings goals for future maintenance, such as new tires or brakes, can also be set.

Company executives describe the addition as a way to give people clearer visibility into an asset they rarely understand in full.

Rather than treating financial products as isolated items, the feature is meant to show how those products support daily life—especially the mobility a car provides.

Future updates are expected to include refinance-rate comparisons that would not affect a user’s credit score unless an application is actually submitted.

OnePay is majority-owned by Walmart and also backed by Ribbit Capital.

The company already offers checking and high-yield savings through partner banks, credit cards, buy-now-pay-later options at Walmart, investing, crypto trading, and other tools.

My Garage continues that pattern of folding additional financial categories into one interface so customers spend less time switching between apps.

The feature began rolling out to existing OnePay users in early September 2026.

It does not yet generate a binding purchase offer for the vehicle, nor does it automatically import an existing insurance policy; those capabilities may come later. Even so, the launch underscores OnePay’s strategy of using Walmart’s large customer base and distribution reach to build a more comprehensive financial platform.
