Impact of Digitalisation on the Agrifood Sector in Europe – Brussels

Agriculture is impacted by global trends related to demographics, economics and climate change. The new emerging technologies that are becoming available can boost effectiveness and reduce risks. Consequently, a “farm-tech revolution” is emerging in the scope of global trends which generate structural changes in farms and the wider value chain in unexplored ways.

In this frame, EBN is organising the conference: Impact of digitalisation on the agrifood sector in Europe

EBN Member VVA together with EBN members Wageningen UR, South East BIC and Rev’Agro Beauvais have performed a study for the European Parliament addressing the following questions:

• What are the key technology advancements of the “farm-tech revolution” to date?
• For particular technology, what are the impacts on the evolution of the agrifood chain and the vertical integration of the value chain?
• What do these disruptive technology developments imply for the modernisation of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)?

EU|BICs and experts of the agrifood sector will get the opportunity to learn more about those challenges and to debate and discuss together their impact on local ecosystems as well as new forms of collaboration.

The event will be followed by a networking cocktail, to allow the exchange of opinions and best practices.
