BuildStream launches investment round on Republic

YC Funded BuildStream Launches Investment Campaign for Supply Chain Quality Inspection Marketplace App, Raising $1M From Users and the Crowd.

NEW YORK, Feb 21, 2021 — BuildStream, a new labor marketplace that helps energy, manufacturing, and engineering projects manage supply chain quality inspections, has launched an investment campaign with Republic. The startup has raised over $25,000 from dozens of investors in its first week and will keep the round open until the end of April.

Founded by industry operator Terry Clarke and Apple alum David Polanski, BuildStream matches the demand for inspections from their network of infrastructure projects with independent contractors and small/medium-sized inspection agencies to fulfill the work. Everything is done digitally, helping to reduce friction, save costs, and reduce errors on site.

“We’re thrilled that so many people support our mission to improve standards of quality in the global supply chain,” said Clarke. “Our platform not only digitizes the time consuming and error prone processes, but we’re also connecting the marketplace, helping clients save money, and inspection providers grow their businesses which is especially important in these difficult times”

BuildStream have already signed clients including major energy companies and infrastructure projects, while their network of inspection providers is growing fast and sits at over 1,000 as of today. Early investors include YC, BMW and Plug and Play.

The campaign will help fund sales and product development, including the setting up of partnerships in key locations on the East Coast US, Australia and the UK.

Investors receive perks depending on the amount invested, and the minimum investment amount is $100.
