Around 6.6 million Germans have supported social projects online, equal to 1 in 8 (12%) of all internet users in Germany, according to a survey by Aris for ICT industry group Bitkom. A further 22 percent are prepared to give money online for good causes. Of these, 45 percent are prepared to donate up to EUR 5, 27 percent up to EUR 20, 23 percent between EUR 20-EUR 50, 5 percent more than EUR 50. There are a range of crowdfunding platforms in Germany including Startnext, Betterplace and Pling.
