WaPo Declares Crowdfunding Biggest Story for Small Business of 2012

Abe Lincoln Washington DCAs the top ten lists start to pore in from every corner of the media world, Crowdfunding will certainly not be spared.  Coming from the Washington Postdoyenne of main stream media – is a list of Top 10 stories for Small Business.  At the top of the heap is, of course, Crowdfunding:

The dawn of crowdfunding

In an all-too-rare act of bipartisanship in 2012, policy makers came together to pass the JOBS Act in April, which eases the regulatory process for firms raising capital by authorizing the use of new online equity crowdfunding platforms. However, entrepreneurs will have to wait a little longer before taking advantage of the law’s provisions, as regulators won’t likely issue rules to govern the new platforms until deep into 2013.

We at Crowdfund Insider are certainly tickled to see it at the top of the list.  I think the jury is still out on the bipartisanship thing though.  Remember how Crowdfunding for equity was scheduled to start like – tomorrow?  Yeah tardy on that one I guess.  Maybe our public servants will get to it after they tackle that whole Fiscal Cliff thing….
