Announced on Friday on the Kickstarter blog, the crowdfunding site continues to evolve by incorporating hashtags into the Kickstarter campaigns to aid with project discovery.
As participation Kickstarter grows and the number of projects being funded by their crowdfunding site the team has noticed some trends which they believe they can leverage going forward. A form of categorization is evolving with the hashtag process;
Tags aren’t tethered to a specific category. Instead they reflect a common philosophy (#Civic), shared subject matter (#Science), themes (#Zombies), accolades (#Sundance), and a bunch of other stuff too. We’ll be adding and rotating tags constantly as new trends pop up throughout the site. These will be listed in the sidebar of the Discover page.
As data grows you can be certain the process will change and adapt to accommodate the needs Kickstarter campaigns.
