Christian based crowdfunding site FaithLauncher and Christian Film Database (CFDb), have teamed up to increase economic leverage and social media exposure for Christian filmmakers and actors. “That is our primary goal with Christian Film Database,” FaithLauncher Founder and CEO, Fernando Chavez, stated. “This is a globally influential industry and, in 2013, several independent, mainstream films made it to the Oscars through benchmark crowdfunding successes. We are more confident than ever that our alliance with CFDb will help escalate the presence of Christian movies.”
“CFDb is the most extensive database of Christian Movies ever. We offer a [broad] list of categories that people can browse when they are looking for a particular topic for a film,“ CFDb Co-Founder, Annelie Rudlaff commented. It is non-denominational and serves everyone online regardless of where they live worldwide, free of charge. At CFDb each film has its own web page with a synopsis and various other choices to aid users in viewing, renting, and acquiring it – including links to order the film for screenings at their church.
They also plan to increase the number of films on their database to over 2,500. Users are also welcomed to ask anything about a Christian film and, if CFDb doesn’t know the answer, they will find it out for you.
“Our partnership with FaithLauncher will help filmmakers who are trying to fund their film, and by going through CFDb, they will receive benefits…including ad discounts on CFDb,” Rudlaff added. CFDb is constantly evolving in their ability to serve Christian movies and every type of professional involved. Kicking off their actor/actress pages is another primary goal for 2013. This will allow actors to showcase their demo reels, biographies, and resumes. Both FaithLauncher and CFDb plan to combine their social media and community building skills to effectively support their users.
