Crowdfunder, Enterprise Nation team up to help fund over 75,000 homegrown businesses

CrowdfunderCrowdfunder has partnered with Enterprise Nation to help fund UK businesses which will reach a network of over two million people.

The partnership will help educate UK businesses on how crowdfunding could work for them. The combined Crowdfunder and Peoplefund.it network have already contributed £500,000 to over 200 projects.

The partnership will enable Enterprise Nation members to raise funds of between £1,000 and £50,000 for their enterprise through Crowdfunder.

Emma Jones, Enterprise Nation Founder, said: “We are really excited to be in partnership with Crowdfunder, there has never been a better time to start a business and it’s great that platforms like Crowdfunder are able to provide funding for start ups.”

enterprise_nationEnterprise Nation, an online business club, has partnered with Crowdfunder as part of their referral scheme. Enterprise Nation will have a subsection on their website where people will submit their business ideas to Crowdfunder.co.uk. The project idea must have a clear goal and requirement for funding, as well as a short video telling potential backers what the business is all about. The project owner will ask for an investment amount and offer rewards in return for pledges.

Phil Geraghty, Peoplefund.it MD, said: “The new partnership with Enterprise Nation will make a massive impact on providing funding for small businesses and start ups in the UK. This is yet another huge step forward for the British crowdfunding market.”

Backed by the UK’s leading University of Enterprise, Plymouth University, and their Enterprise  Accelerator Partnership, Crowdfunder has already created a network which now includes:- Peoplefund.it, WeDidThis, the arts and Culture funding platform, and publishing crowdfunder Unbound. The new partnership with Enterprise Nation combined with Plymouth University will be one of the strongest online enterprise partnerships in the UK.

Crowdfunder, backed by Crowdcube, have recently merged with Peoplefund.it now combining their technology and marketing platforms, branding and teams to create a platform that will rival other new entrants to the crowdfunding market. Peoplefund.it was launched by KEO digital, the makers of rivercottage.net, fishfight.net, landshare.net and energyshare.com, to become the UK’s leading crowdfunding platform.

Crowdfunding enables people with a great business idea to ask the general public for the funding they need to set up or expand. The business sets a target for the money it wants to raise and explains how it will use the cash. People can then make pledges for small amounts of money in return for a reward if the target is reached.

Crowdfunder alone have raised more than £330,000 for nearly 200 ideas and projects including the creative arts as well as community and charity based projects. Crowdfunder recently helped The Magnets, a group of a cappella stars making great music simply with their mouths, exceed their funding target when they raised £15,081. Bristol based bike cafe ‘Roll for the Soul’ also successfully raised £13,047 while A Great Little Place, a social network site based in London, raised £11,023 from 380 funders.
