RPG Divinity Original Sin Surpasses $400K Goal on Kickstarter

Divinity Original SinDivinity: Original Sin, a role playing game crowdfunding on Kickstarter, has surpassed their $400,000 goal and have set up new stretch goals to keep the momentum and funding going.  Reward tiers start at $5 and scale up to $10,000.

Divinity was recognized as one of the most promising RPGs of 2013 by RPGWatch.  They have generated some pretty amazing accolades from the gaming community and the current build is supposedly pretty awesome.

Currently the game is at over $515,000 pledged from over 11,200 backers with 9 days to go on the crowdfunding campaign. The campaign was fully funded in less than two weeks into the process.  They have already surpassed their first stretch goal at $500,000 with their final stretch at $1,000,000.

The project organizers have also leveraged the momentum of the crowd by adding “extras” for every 1000 likes on facebook.

Larian Studios is the company behind Divinity.  They are an independent game studio based in Ghent, Belgium.  Their games have captured numerous awards over the years.  Their master plan is to create a “Very Big RPG that will dwarf them all”.  Looks like they are pretty close.
