Crowdfunded on Kickstarter, Power Pot is Now in Stores in Korea

Power Pot on KickstarterCrowdfunded on Kickstarter in May of last year, the Power Pot is migrating to become a successful post crowdfund business.  The Power Pot crowdfunding campaign had an original goal of raising $50,000 but more than doubled that by generating over $126,000 to finance the project.  Over 1000 backers supported this project.

The Power Pot transforms the heat from cooking into electricity with no moving parts.  This is done using a technology called thermoelectric power generation. Founded by two engineers who “wanted the option to listen to music and to charge our electronic gizmos while they were away from the power grid.”

The company, Power Practical, has just announced a partnership with Korean distributor Hyun Woo International for distributing the PowerPot in South Korea.

Hyun Woo International is distributing the units to a chain of Harley Davidson stores in Korea that carry hard-to-find imports from the US and elsewhere, in addition to retailing authentic Harley Davidson motorcycles, gear and apparel. The product was introduced to its first store during it’s first press event in South Korea.

The company is currently preparing to launch the product in retail outlets all over the US and Canada.
