Mount July Camera Filters Launch Kickstarter Campaign

A pair of photography enthusiasts from Stanford, California have announced a Kickstarter campaign for Mount July camera filters. This set of three camera filters will screw onto any 58 or 52 mm lens, creating Instagram-like filtering for your digital camera.

Olivia Vagelos and Martin Bush are ready to give the green light on manufacturing the lenses, but they will need the crowd’s help. From the campaign page…

We started from a small idea, interviewed professional photographers, designers, and engineers, built countless prototypes, and iterated over and over to get to this point. We have found a manufacturer who has the capabilities to produce radial, multi-colored gradients on glass, and is tooled for our rotating aluminum housing.

Unfortunately, we can’t afford to get the first round of filters into production on our own. That is where you come in. We need your help to begin the production, shipping and testing of larger sample batches, final manufacturing development, and start the first round of filters on the production line.

Camera filters shipped with certain reward levels include stinson, sedona and sayulita filters. Other rewards include things like a printed backpack, patterened bandana and an iron-on patch. For $1,250 you can secure a deciding vote on the color of the next Mount July filter.
