One couple in the United Kingdom were talking about preventing piracy and cooked up a plastic barrier on the railing of the ship. Turned down by banks they went on to raise equity via Crowdcube. Fundraising was over-subscribed and the company raised £114,970 from 80 investors for 11.5% equity.
