Reddit User Producing Weekly Crowdfunding Games Roundup

bb-redditGame developers crowdfunding their latest title should take note of an effort on the part of Reddit user Revisor007, who has been creating a weekly crowdfunding roundup every week for a few months now in /r/Games and /r/CrowdfundedGames.

It could provide a nice opportunity for game developers to get the word out about their games to Reddit’s community of gamers.

This week’s roundup underscores the power Kickstarter has in the gaming community. Of the over 20 cited titles, every single one of them is on Kickstarter.

kickstarter-logoOf the currently running campaigns, the one to watch is Obduction. Cyan, Inc. has four days to hit a goal of $1.1 million, which would be a truly amazing accomplishment. Perhaps the only thing more amazing is the fact that they’re actually really close to doing so, having raised over $930,000 at the time of writing.

Revisor007 describes the game as an “immersive adventure game” that “begins with your abduction and resurrects that incredible feeling of suddenly finding yourself in the middle of a new world to explore, discover, solve, and become part of.”

It also shares some happy news; Battle Worlds: Kronos delivered on-time and on-budget after raising $260,000 on a $120,000 goal. The campaign’s funding closed in April of this year.
