We recently reported on an Indiegogo campaign for The Young Turks that had succeeded in meeting a $250,000 goal on Indiegogo. The goal of the campaign is to crowdfund a new studio for a program touted as “the largest online news show in the world.” The Young Turks’ YouTube channel has generated over 1.5 billion views since inception and boasts over 1.3 million subscribers.
The program is hosting a 24 hour livestream right now to celebrate the end of the campaign and push those on the fence to jump in and fund the project in the final hours. The livestream will end at 6 PM EST tonight. You can stream it by playing the video above.
For what its worth, it’s pretty hilarious. At this current moment, host Cenk Uygur is pleading with the crowd to get the campaign over $345,000 in funding so he can go to the bathroom.
The campaign has garnered contributions from over 3,000 people from all over the world at the time of writing. It currently sits at over $340,000 of funding, good for 35th on Indiegogo’s all-time list.
