Decentralized Dance Party Strikes Again with New Year’s Eve Airport Party (Video)

Decentralized Dance Party at Vancouver AirportTom and Gary’s Decentralized Dance Party (DDP) welcomed the New Year in an awesome fashion by celebrating the first moments of 2014 at the Vancouver International Airport (of course).  The video below shares some of the fun which makes me want to know where the next party is going to be held.  Along with hundreds of determined revelers the movable rave received some kind assistance from Translink (Vancouver’s version of public transport) and, believe it not – the Vancouver Police.  How cool is that?

Travelers landing at the Vancouver International Airport must have received quite a surprise as they encountered the rave at the terminal just before midnight.   Definitely one way to make air travel suck less on New Year’s Eve.

DDP ran a Kickstarter campaign in April 2013 where they raised over $26,000 to fund their vision of the most inclusive party possible.  They have also run campaigns on Indiegogo to finance events in other cities.  DDPs are hosted in public spaces and open Decentralized Dance Party Bananafor anyone to join.  Vancouver is their home town but Tom and Gary have spread their vision of a good time to cities across the globe.  Now DDP is using Bitcoin and Dogecoin donations to fund their operation.  Tom and Gary are investigating using Bitcoins to fund the creation of their documentary film and world tour.  Either way once they release the film – I am going  to be first in line to watch it.  Happy New Year.
