BrewDog; “We Couldn’t Find Money to Expand Our Company”

Equity for Punk BrewDog FoundersEquity crowdfunding innovator BrewDog was recently interviewed on BBC about their “Equity for Punks” campaign.  The brief recording is interesting in the fact that co-founder James Watt adroitly explains the challenge.  They could not find money to grow their business.

Necessity being the mother of innovation, the Scottish Brewery decided to “think outside the box” and Equity for Punks was born.

DogWired from BrewDogBrewDog just closed their third round of raising capital from the crowd where they have garnered over £9 million in total from more than 14,000 investors.  The craft Brewery is now expanding around the world and is planning their first bar in Asia.

BrewDog’s investors are passionate about holding shares in the company and they are also understandably their best customers.

This brief recording is worth a listen.
